Where Day Pal is different
- You can try photo, voice and text logging without subscribing: 10 AI actions per device.
- Log by voice or by typing a sentence, from the same AI actions. Speech is recognised on your phone.
- Meal photos are analysed, then dropped: we never store them, and the location is stripped before upload.
- The coach can see today's diary and suggests real foods from the catalogue.
Where Yazio is stronger
- A far bigger food database: 4 million+ searchable items against Day Pal's 13,000+.
- 3,000+ recipes and custom meal plans with Pro. Day Pal has neither.
- A large user base: 4.7 stars from about 51,000 ratings on the US App Store when we checked.
- A barcode scanner, listed with its free features.
Questions people ask
Is Yazio free?
Yazio is free to download, and its App Store listing describes a free calorie counter. Its help centre lists AI photo tracking, the full recipe database and an ad-free experience as Yazio Pro features.
Is there a Yazio alternative with free photo logging?
Day Pal gives every device 10 free AI actions, once, for photo, voice or text logging, with no subscription and no trial to cancel. Food search and manual logging stay free after that.
Can I move my Yazio diary to Day Pal?
Not directly: Day Pal has no Yazio import. You start a new diary, and your Yazio account stays as it is.
Does Day Pal have a barcode scanner?
No. Day Pal logs food from a photo, from what you say or type, or from food search. If you mostly scan packaged food, an app with a barcode scanner will suit you better.
Try it before you decide
